In January 2026, international visitors to Vietnam reached an unprecedented 2.45 million, marking an 18.5% year-on-year increase, the highest since tracking commenced in 2015. This rise follows a 15.7% increase observed the previous month. The surge in tourism can be attributed to groundbreaking visa policies, dynamic promotion and marketing innovations, and enhanced diversification of tourism products coupled with improved service quality. A significant rise in visitors from Asia was noted, with a 12.3% increase, prominently driven by Cambodia's remarkable 122.7% surge, followed by India at 80.5%, the Philippines at 75.0%, Singapore at 51.7%, and Malaysia at 45.4%. Arrivals from the Americas grew by 14.2%, with notable increases from the United States (12.0%), Canada (22.9%), and other American nations (19.9%). European tourism also saw a robust increase of 59.0%, with substantial growth reported from Russia (195.1%), the UK (23.0%), France (25.3%), and Germany (18.0%). Visits from Australia rose by 12.8%, while African arrivals increased by 45.4%. On a monthly comparison, Vietnam experienced a 21.4% rise in international arrivals.
