Malta's annual inflation rate remained steady at 2.5% in November 2025, holding firm from the previous period. There were slight increases in the costs of food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.4% compared to 3.3% in October), housing and utilities (1.7% up from 1.6%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (1.8% from the prior 1.7%), health (2.9% from 2.8%), as well as dining and accommodation (4% from 3.7%), and recreation and culture (3.6% from 3.3%). Meanwhile, the decline in prices for clothing and footwear showed signs of easing, registering -1.7% compared to -2.9%. Conversely, transportation costs saw a deceleration (2.2% compared to 3.2%), as did furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance (1.2% down from 1.3%), and miscellaneous goods and services (3.5% compared to 3.8%). However, deflation in the communication sector intensified, recording -5% as opposed to -4%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.7% in November, recovering from a 0.9% decrease in the previous month.
